Squeaky scans and cleans your Mac on your Mac. We don't have accounts, we don't use analytics or advertising trackers, and your files are never uploaded anywhere.

The Squeaky app
What stays on your Mac
Everything Squeaky scans (file names, sizes, photos, apps, browser data, battery and performance information) is processed only on your Mac. Your cleaning history, settings and usage chart are stored only on your Mac.
Ask Squeaky uses Apple Intelligence, which runs on your Mac, or a built-in offline helper. We don't receive your questions.
When Squeaky goes online
Squeaky only connects to the internet for these tasks:
- Threat list updates. Squeaky downloads lists of known malware (for example from MalwareBazaar by abuse.ch). It downloads lists only. It never uploads your files or file fingerprints.
- App Updates. To show which of your apps have updates, Squeaky asks the App Store and those apps' own update servers for their latest version numbers.
- License activation. When you activate a license, your license key is checked with our payment provider. No other data is sent.
Squeaky has no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising tools.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, they are created on your Mac. We don't send push notifications.
Buying Squeaky
Purchases are handled by our online reseller and Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy. They process your name, email, payment details and country to take payment, calculate taxes and send your license key. We receive your name, email, country and order details so we can support you. We never see your full card details. See Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy.
This website
getsqueaky.app doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Like every website, our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
When you email us, we use your message and email address only to reply and help you. If you use Send feedback in the app, the diagnostic info added to the email (Squeaky version, macOS version, Mac model, language and free disk space) is shown to you before you send it.
How long we keep data
We keep order records as long as the law requires (usually for tax purposes) and support emails for as long as needed to help you, then delete them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe, the UK GDPR or the LGPD in Brazil), you can ask to see, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Email hello@getsqueaky.app and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Squeaky isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Big changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
